A brave and brilliant Iranian teacher secretly gathers her students at her home to read forbidden books.
A tribute to the classics of world literature.
Every Thursday morning for two years, Azar Nafisi, a brave and brilliant Iranian teacher, clandestinely gathers seven of her most gifted students in her living room to read forbidden books: works by Jane Austen, Henry James, Scott Fitzgerald and, of course, Vladamir Nabokov, the author of Lolita. As the girls gradually express themselves through the books, they realize how their own lives are transforming and mingling with the plot of the works to which they devote themselves.
