The production of Lucia di Lammermoor presented at the Wiener Staatsoper in 2019 brought the emotional
intensity and dramatic force of Donizetti’s masterpiece back to the Viennese stage.
With Olga Peretyatko in the demanding role of Lucia, alongside Juan Diego Flórez and George Petean, the performance brought together a first-rate cast
under the musical direction of Evelino Pidò.
Laurent Pelly’s staging, renowned for its innovative approach and elegant visual language, framed the romantic tragedy
in a space of great aesthetic impact that enhanced the famous madness scene and the most intense choral moments.
