Amrum Island, Germany, spring 1945. In the final days of World War II, Nanning, a 12-year-old boy, helps his mother forage for food for his family. In the absence of his father, Nanning relies on his friendship with Hermann for support in his time of need. However, as the long-awaited peace descends, unforeseen challenges arise, forcing Nanning to chart his own course through the turbulent post-war waters.
