SHREK, one of the great classics of modern animation, will be re-released in theaters on May 29, 2026 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its original release.
Synopsis: Shrek, a green ogre, cynical, malicious and in a permanent bad mood, lives in a swamp that seems to be a haven of peace. One morning, while grooming himself, he discovers some irritating creatures that have occupied his swamp, which makes him very uncomfortable, so he decides to put an end to this disturbance as soon as possible. The grumpy green ogre decides to go to the castle of Lord Farquaad, who is directly responsible for the arrival of the creatures in Shrek’s swamp. Lord Farquaad wants to marry Princess Fiona, who is a prisoner of an abominable dragon that guards the tower where she is locked up. He only needs a brave knight to rescue the maiden, with the intention of enjoying a life of fairy tales and fantasy for the rest of her days. Shrek agrees to fulfill the mission. In return, the lord must drive the invading creatures out of his swamp. However, Princess Fiona holds a terrifying secret that will lead the ogre and his companion, Donkey, to live a thrilling and dangerous adventure.
