Daniel is 40 years old and lives on the street. He doesn’t talk to anyone, he doesn’t look for company, much less compassion. He is a silent spectator of the urban bustle, a ghost who, unwittingly, sees everything. Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, the city speaks to him, even if he does not respond.
Aina, a young woman in her twenties, a volunteer for an international NGO, notices him. There is something in the eyes of this homeless man that prevents her from ignoring him. She decides to help him, but the closer she gets, the more he rejects her. This resistance, instead of driving her away, obsesses her. She wants to know who that man was before he was lost.
Persistent and patient, Aina manages to open a crack in Daniel’s wall. What she discovers disarms her: Daniel was a top executive of a multinational company, fired after being accused of a scandalous embezzlement. To protect his family from reprisals, he fled from everything, including himself, leaving them everything he had.
But Aina has stirred up too much. The past does not forget, and in the middle of the carnival celebration, when everyone hides behind a mask, Daniel will have to take off his. It will be the moment to face what he was, what he did, and what he could still save.
Because sometimes, to find yourself again, first you have to lose yourself completely.
